China has fought war with India, Russia, Vietnam over territorial dispute and has contested Vietnam, Japan, Philippines' claim over South and East China seas. Though officially, the Chinese government has refrained from a belligerent rhetoric over the standoff, nevertheless its media has been carrying out a relentless propaganda war and implicit threats against India and at times against Bhutan. It was Bhutan, which had asked for India assistance to 'resolve' the crisis but Chinese media has blamed India for 'oppressing' the Bhutanese kingdom and stoking a fire to create a wedge between India and Bhutan. All along it has been empowering Pakistan and supporting clandestinely its military Nuclear programme. How should India deal with China? Is China's global ambition spilling across its borders? Is it time for India to harden its stance?
