A young 16-year-old, Prish Tapre, has taken up the challenge of swimming the English Channel - solo. She will be the youngest British Indian to perform the feat. This is to raise awareness of the significance of fitness for young girls, particularly of Asian communities to fight several stigmas attached to girls and sport - specially swimming. Swimming the English Channel is one of the toughest things to do - some have compared climbing Mount Everest as slightly easier. Prisha is also raising funds for the charity Akshaya Patra to enable the girl child with nutrition and education.
