The much-expected proxy battle between Congress chief minister Siddaramaiah and BJP's chief ministerial candidate BS Yeddyurappa from Varuna has been called off. The seat, represented by Mr Siddaramaiah, has gone to son, Dr Yatheendra, who is making his debut in politics. It was expected that he would contest against Mr Yeddyurappa's son. Today, as the fourth list of the BJP was released without any mention of Varuna, Mr Yeddyurappa confirmed to NDTV that his son will not be contesting from the seat.
