Opposition leaders expressed disappointment at the interim budget presented by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Thursday. Congress MP Shashi Tharoor said the budget was high on "rhetorical language". Adding that the Minister spoke about foreign investment but failed to mention that it has come down from 3.6 per cent in UPA's time to less than one per cent of GDP today. "...was there anything about women...we are looking at a situation where declining female labour participation rate is a real factor and yet she talked about 'nari shakti'," he said.
