Bundeli story: Drought drying Bundelkhandi folklore
The annual Bundelkhandi folk festival, some 20 kilometers from Khajuraho bears the imprint of drought and the demand for a separate state. This is a demand set in motion by Mayawati a few months ago, the case for a separate state is strengthened not only because of abysmal poverty across 14 districts, but also because Bundelkhandi's claim separate identity language, cultutre and history.
