It's soft and gooey and has children tickled pink. But the Supreme Court has just burst the bubble about chewing gum. It may become less fun for bubblegum lovers as Supreme Court recently burst the balloon of chewing gum manufacturers and passed a 10 per cent tax on the candy. The verdict said that it is not a candy but a mouth-freshener. Bubblegum is not a sweet, and therefore should be taxed like all mouth-fresheners are.
