Congress Wins Uttarakhand's Badrinath By 5,000 Votes, Manglaur By Thin Margin
The Congress won both the Badrinath and Manglaur assembly seats in the Uttarakhand bypolls. The BJP lost by some 5,000 votes in Badrinath. In Manglaur, the Congress won by a narrow margin of over 400 seats. The Congress's win in the BJP-ruled state was seen as a big confidence booster for the Opposition.
