Cabinet overrules PM over Lok Pal Bill
The Cabinet has decided to overrule the Prime Minister on his request to be included within the purview of the Lok Pal Bill. The bill aims at setting up an independent authority for redressal of grievances against the various arms of the government. The cabinet has once again sought legal examination but it is becoming increasing clear that the UPA government has lost the political will to go ahead with the Lok Pal Bill.
