Cairn-Vedanta deal: The options before Cabinet panel
Finally, it looks like Anil Agarwal's London listed Vedanta Resources will get the required go ahead from the Cabinet for acquiring majority stake in Cairn India, Indian arm of Cairn Energy. But it is unclear whether the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA), headed by the Prime Minister, will give unconditional approval to the deal, or put in certain riders to protect ONGC’s interests.
