The Calcutta High Court rebuked the police for refusing permission to Union Home Minister Amit Shah's scheduled rally in Kolkata next week. The court has also given a go ahead for the programme planned by the BJP, which is planning a mega rally on November 29 in Kolkata to take on the ruling TMC. The rally will be addressed by Amit Shah. While the TMC cited apprehensions over law and order during the programme of the BJP as there has been violence in the past, the BJP called the court order a victory for democracy and accused the police of acting in a partial manner.
