The Calcutta High Court has granted permission for Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's solidarity rally. Dismissing Opposition leader Suvendu Adhikari's appeal, the Chief Justice Division of the Calcutta High Court issued permission for the harmony march. Mamata Banerjee will hit the streets on January 22, the day of the inauguration of Ram Mandi in Ayodhya. On this day, she will walk in a solidarity procession. The Chief Minister will also hold a public meeting in Kolkata with the aim of harmonising all religions. Controversies have flared up around this solidarity march. The BJP claims that this program is an attempt to create division.
