Shimla - a city built originally for just 16,000 people now houses over 2,00,000 residents. The city's radius has expanded from 2 km to 10 km in just over four decades. Rampant construction and incessant rains have caused devastation in Himachal's hill capital resulting in maximum landslides in Shimla. As Himachal tourism takes a severe hit, the question of whether Shimla can be made into a resilient and safe city arises.
