Can the govt's ambitious food bill remove hunger?

If the government can deliver on it, it will have fulfilled perhaps its biggest poll promise - a national Food Security Act which gives upwards of 800 million people access to highly subsidised food grain. Critics have said it will be impossible to achieve but now Parliament's standing committee, which looked closely at the divergent views, has finalised its recommendations. However, implementing this programme successfully will be the real challenge.
