Canada Puts On Hold Indian Student's Deportation, Raises Hope For Others

There is some relief for Indian students facing the possibility of deportation from Canada over 'fake university admission letters'. The Canadian government has stayed the deportation of a student who was asked to go back this month, raising hope for close to 700 students facing this risk. According to Indian government sources, this relief for students comes after External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar spoke to his Canadian counterpart. And as students say they're victims of an 'immigration scam', government sources say the primary causes for this are gaps in the Canadian system that allowed these students entry in the first place.
