Political uncertainty remained a feature as Canadian media reported that embattled Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau would announce his resignation as early as Monday. The Canadian currency strengthened as much as 0.4% to C$1.4388 per dollar after the reports. On the other hand, Local media reported on Monday that Tadashi Imai, the president of Japan’s Nippon Steel, said the company considered filing a lawsuit against the U.S. government as “one of the important options”.
