Uncle of Vinesh Phogat and celebrated wrestling coach Mahavir Phogat is hoping for the deliverance of justice from the Court of Arbitration for Sports (CAS) as he believes the grappler deserves to be a joint silver medallist of the Paris Olympics.
The 29-year-old, who had become the first Indian woman wrestler to reach an Olympic final, was left heartbroken after she was disqualified from the 50kg gold-medal bout for being 100gm overweight, prompting her to also announce a shock retirement.
