The Modi government on Friday announced in the interim budget that marginal farmers with small land holding will get the direct cash benefit of Rs 6000 per year. Congress president Rahul Gandhi said Rs 17 a day was an insult to farmers. His party had recently promised a basic minimum income to the poor people of the country.
