"Caste is the very bane of our Indian society; caste has for the longest discriminated amongst people. How is one responsible for the caste they are born in?" said Supriya Shrinate, Congress spokesperson, when asked about her interpretation of RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat's remarks on caste. Mr Bhagwat had said everyone is equal before god, but caste was a creation of priests.
