CEC Gopalaswami wants Chawla out
In a move, which could trigger off an institutional and a political crisis, Chief Election Commissioner N Gopalaswami has sent a recommendation to the President Pratibha Patil for the removal of other election commissioner Naveen chawla. In his letter he has asked for the removal on the grounds of partisanship. It could be a serious institutional crisis especially since general elections are just two months awa, to be held in April-May.
