Centre agrees to using salt pan land
The Centre has in principle agreed to the Maharashtra government's proposal for utilising about 5,500 acres of salt pan land in the city for resettlement purposes. "The government is working out a plan to resettle slum dwellers on the 4,500 acres of the salt pan lands," said Kamal Nath, Union Minister of Commerce and Industry.
