The Centre cleared the names of five judges to the Supreme Court a day after the top court expressed displeasure over the delay in appointment. This comes amid a protracted tussle between the executive and the judiciary over the process of appointments. President Droupadi Murmu has approved the elevation of five judges to the Supreme Court. "As per the provisions under the Constitution of India, Hon'ble President of India has appointed the following Chief Justices and Judges of the High Courts as Judges of the Supreme Court. I extend best wishes to all of them," Union Law Minister Kiren Rijiju tweeted.
