CERC's bonanza for power cos
Power regulator Central Electricity Regulatory Commission has brought some good news for the power companies, battered by rising input costs and suffering low returns on investments. CERC on Tuesday hiked the rate of return on equity (R0E) from 14 per cent to 15.5 per cent to calculate tariff along with an additional incentive of 50 basis point for timely commissioning of projects.
