Cervical Cancer Can be Eradicated Through Vaccination
Arun Bharat Ram, Chairman of SRF Limited and Mridu Gupta of CAPED, an organization that works for patients with cervical cancer, highlighted the importance of prevention being better than cure when it comes to cancer. They cited how United States has managed to virtually eradicate cervical cancer through inoculation programme among girls when they hit puberty. During the NDTV-Fortis Cancerthon they urged for Polio like eradication drive to be initiated for preventing cervical cancer in India.
