Champaran village tames a 'mad' river
Villagers in Bihar's West Champaran have taken up the task of taming a river. They waited for a long time for the government to act and when it did not happen, the villagers came together to rein in the rampaging Masan river. To fight nature's fury, all the villagers have farming tools. Their enemy is the unpredictable Masan river, which changes course many times during the monsoon.
