Tensions have been escalating between the BJP and the Telugu Desam Party since the TDP parted ways with the NDA in March last year. Prime Minister Narendra Modi was to visit Andhra Pradesh on Sunday but postponed it as Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu planned to spare no efforts to embarrass him with black-flag protests. PM Modi, in a video conference with BJP leaders from Andhra Pradesh, attacked Mr Naidu saying he is focusing on the "son-rise" of his son Nara Lokesh instead of sunrise of Andhra Pradesh. He also said Mr Naidu was once again backstabbing his father-in-law by joining hands with the Congress.
