Chennai Airport Suspends Flights As Pongal Bonfire Ritual Adds To Smog

Chennai airport has suspended landings for at least an hour as severe smog has reduced visibility, being seen as a result of burning discarded items as part of the Bhogi ritual that marks the beginning of Pongal. At least five international flights have been diverted to Hyderabad and 18 outbound flights delayed, NDTV'S Sam Daniel reports.
