Chennai citizens oppose concretising beach
It is a beach where new construction is prohibited by the Coastal Regulation Zone notification or CRZ. But violating this on the Elliots beach in Chennai is the city corporation. Coming up all along the beach is a 628-metre gallery for people to sit and watch the sea. So, the beach users are up in arms. They are saying no to concrete and are instead demanding that the beach be cleaned up.
