Chennai Water Scarcity: South Chennai Residents Demand Action Plan From Candidates
The drinking water crisis in Chennai has become a key poll issue. A 54 per cent deficit in monsoon has already led to cut in drinking water supply by 44 per cent in the city. Around 15 lakh residents living on the IT Corridor are angry that for years they have not been provided piped water and sewage facilities despite paying water taxes . Now, they are writing to all candidates to spell out their plan to provide them these basic amenities so they would make an informed decision on who they should vote for.
