Chess Champion Gukesh D Receives Rousing Welcome At Chennai Airport

India's 17-year-old phenom D Gukesh on Monday created history as he became the champion of the FIDE Candidates Chess Tournament 2024 after an exciting final round in Toronto. Winner of the FIDE Candidates 2024, D Gukesh received a rousing welcome in Chennai upon his arrival from Toronto on April 25. Tamil Nadu Sports Development and D Gukesh’s school management made elaborate arrangements at the airport to welcome the champion. Hundreds of students lined up at the airport to greet the 17-year-old champion.
