Today there is security at every corner, covering every angle in slain Congress leader Mahindra Karma's village in Chhattisgarh. Two days ago, when Mr Karma was returning from a political rally along with other leaders, there was none. Central government sources tell NDTV that there was no security preparation, no planning to ensure safety and security of political leaders attending the rally, and claim that they had alerted the state government about the possibility of such an attack. The state government says there were over 800 security men deployed for Congress' parivartan yatra. However, when the Maoists attacked, there were only 20 odd policemen who put up a brief but brave fight.
