Chhattisgarh: Idol Makers in Durg Gear Up For Ganesh Chaturthi
Ahead of Ganesh Chaturthi, artisans from the Durg district in Chhattisgarh are busy crafting beautiful idols of Lord Ganesha. Artisans who have been involved in this work for generations said that they work throughout the year to ensure the idols are ready on time for the festivities. During the festival, the idols of Lord Ganesha are brought home and worshipped before they are ceremonially immersed in water.
