Chidambaram cleared spending for CWG: Mani Shankar Aiyar
Senior Congress leader and former Sports Minister Mani Shankar Aiyar has stirred a fresh controversy by saying that it was then Finance Minister P Chidambaram who okayed the expenditure for the Commonwealth Games held in Delhi in October 2010. Speaking during the course of a debate with current Sports Minister Ajay Maken on NDTV's Your Call, Mr Aiyar said that Mr Chidambaram sanctioned the release of the massive funds to Suresh Kalmadi, adding that the money was handed over sans an approved budget.
