Chidambaram writes to PM against Nandan Nilekani's UID project
The Union Cabinet has asked Nandan Nilekani, who heads the massive Unique ID scheme, to ensure the use of biometric data gathered by the Home Ministry's National Population Register (NPR) Project. This after Home Minister P Chidambaram wrote to the Prime Minister complaining that the NPR project had "come to a standstill" because Mr Nilekani refused to use its data.
