Shashi Tharoor could be questioned in next few days: Delhi top cop to NDTV
As the Special Investigation Team of the Delhi Police probes the Sunanda Pushkar case, Delhi Police Commissioner BS Bassi tells NDTV that her husband and Congress Member of Parliament Shashi Tharoor could be questioned in the next few days. In an exclusive interview, Mr Bassi says that the CCTV footage from the hotel where Sunanda died is their key evidence and there is no politics behind the change in the police's stance on the case - from inconclusive to murder. When asked whether the suicide theory is off the table, he says the police hasn't ruled out anything, but is in the process of collating evidence. "I cannot afford to be wrong, biased or under any pressure for my report will be examined in an open court," he says. On Mr Tharoor's complaint that he hasn't received copies of documents from the police, Mr Bassi says the police is not legally bound to provide all documents to him at this point.
