Children Of H1-B Visa Holders Fear Deportation
Amid US President Donald Trump's crackdown on immigrants, children of H1-B visa holders who will turn 21 years old soon face the risk of deportation. No longer considered dependents of NRI parents, the children of H-1B visa holders who turn 21 before their parent secures a Green Card can lose their dependent status. According to reports, more than 1 lakh Indian children are expected to age out before their parents obtained green card. The US policy provides two years to opt for a new visa status after 'ageing out'.
