"China is a friend, Japan is a friend, but when it comes here, India and Sri Lanka have interests. We have common interests, because we were under the British," said Sri Lanka Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe on ties with India. "We had the British system of governance. We both believe that the Indian Ocean should be free of big power rivalry," he added.
