Chinese military conducted long-range live-fire drills in the East China Sea on Wednesday, the second day of exercises aimed at intimidating Taiwan against seeking independence. A spokesperson of China's Eastern Theatre Command said the exercises on Wednesday, code-named "Strait Thunder-2025A" were carried out in the middle and southern areas of the Taiwan Strait. They focused on testing troops' capabilities of area regulation and control, joint blockade and control, and precision strike on key targets. In another development, Myanmar's military junta has dismissed calls for a ceasefire, as clashes with armed resistance groups intensify. Over 2,800 people have been killed, with hundreds still missing. Armed groups continue to push for a ceasefire, but violence persists.
