When asked whether the government needs to come clean on what is happening on the LAC, BJP Leader Retired Brigadier Anil Gupta said "politicising matters of national security is not wanted. Our relationship and problems with China is nothing new. It started way back in 1950s and is carrying on. Various governments from time to time have faced this problem and have maintained silence as far as China is concerned. It is better if we fight China diplomatically and politically but not make a hue and cry of it. It is easy to blame each other but time is to have a pragmatic view of the challenges China poses. We need to face the challenge as a united nation, together as is we are divided China will take advantage of it. China tries to look for weaknesses and if we have a divided polity at the centre or in the country China will take advantage of it."
