Clash Breaks Out At Dera Bassi Hospital In Punjab Over Village Mining Dispute

A violent confrontation erupted at the sub-divisional hospital in Derabassi, Chandigarh, stemming from a dispute over alleged illegal mining in Mukandpur village. The clash began when two groups, one reportedly protesting against illegal mining activities, engaged in a violent altercation in the village, injuring more than six people. Tensions escalated as the conflict spilled over into the hospital, where youth from both sides clashed again, wielding weapons, including swords, and damaging several rooms. The chaos caused panic among patients and hospital staff, with frightened individuals fleeing the premises for safety. Police have since registered a case and are investigating the incident.
