Clearance procedures eased by the environment ministry: Is it good news?
The developer community received a huge relief last week as the environment ministry accepted recommendations by the K Kasturirangan panel to ease clearance procedures for township projects. No longer will developers from across the country have to battle clearance from the environment and forest ministries- which sometimes add up to 39 types of clearances. While this is great news for the builder community totally fed up of the numerous clearances which are needed from the beginning to the very end of a project, our big question today is: is it good news for the environment and safety of people?
