Climate Change Inducing Natural Disasters: Ex-Geology Professor On Kerala Landslides
Dr S Sreekumar, a former Geology Professor, explains the reason of the Wayanad landslides that killed more than 300 people. Over 200 people are still missing. As rescue operations in the landslide-hit areas of this north Kerala district entered sixth day with the army, Air Force and forest officials exploring the hills of Wayanad, finding more survivors post the landslides. Dr S Sreekumar says "Climate change is the factor that is inducing the kind of natural disasters all over the world, not only in India. But you can see everywhere that extreme rainfall, even the temperature is making a problem for every state in the country".
