Coimbatore faces acute power shortage
The textile city of Coimbatore is in the grip of severe power shortage. The worst hit are cottage industries and micro enterprises. Work while there is power and play when it is cut has become the routine of many of foundry workers in Coimbatore. They say they have no clue as to when power would be cut. The only thing that is certain is that it is switched off everyday for about five hours. The small and micro industries are perhaps the worst hit in Tamil Nadu as it battles a power shortage.
