Coke production takes a hit
Despite a correction in commodity prices globally, those of coking coal have not subsided as much and is beginning to have a ripple effect, impacting industries other than steel. The coke makers whose operations have been hit big time by soaring coking coal prices, seek a significant discount as high prices have resulted in an 80 per cent cut in local coke output.
