"Concerning...": Jaishankar On USAID Funding Allegations For 'Voter Turnout'

External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar addressed concerns over the USAID grant controversy, stating that the government is looking into the matter after certain claims emerged from the Trump administration. "Some information has been put out there by the Trump administration people, and obviously, that is concerning... I think, as a government, we're looking into it. My sense is that the facts will come out," Jaishankar said. He emphasized that USAID was permitted in India in "good faith" to carry out constructive activities. However, allegations from the United States suggest that some activities may have been conducted in "bad faith," raising serious concerns. "It's worrisome, and if there's something to it, then the country should know who the people involved are," he added.
