There are concerns in the US about an attempt to rush the coronavirus vaccine, to fit the election timetable. A recent survey found that over 60 per cent adults are concerned about the rush for a vaccine. Also, human trials of the Oxford vaccine are on hold in the US after a volunteer developed transverse myelitis (inflammation of the spinal chord). There are reports that a second volunteer has also fallen ill. We spoke with infectious disease specialist Dr Faheem Younus on these concerns.
