Congress, CPM Denounce Govt For Appointing Bhartruhari Mahtab As Pro-Tem Speaker
President Droupadi Murmu on Monday administered oath to BJP member Bhartruhari Mahtab as 'speaker pro-tem' of the newly-constituted 18th Lok Sabha. However, the opposition has denounced the move. Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi blamed the BJP for denying the Dalit community a historic opportunity by not appointing eight-term Congress MP K. Suresh as the pro-tem Speaker.
