Congress MP Manickam Tagore accused the BJP of doing a U-turn, as they previously supported the National Pension Scheme (NPS) but now oppose it. Tagore claimed Congress had always wanted to abolish the NPS, and mocked the BJP's weakened position, citing their reduced seats in government (from 303 to 240). "We all know that the Congress party has been demanding the whole Pension Scheme to be wiped out. At that time, the BJP was saying that NPS has revolutionary things at the financial part of the state government and others. Now, they have done a U-turn. We know that PM Modi's government has become weak. From 303 the party is down to 240 seats...," he said.
