Congress Veteran Karan Singh Says J&K's Statehood Must Be Restored

Veteran Congress leader and former J&K Governor Karan Singh has demanded immediate restoration of statehood to Jammu and Kashmir, terming the current status of the region as a demotion of the 'crown of India,' which he said was "unacceptable." In a recent interview to Shazi Zaman, Editor, PTI Videos, Singh, a three-time Rajya Sabha MP and Sadr-i-Riyasat of the erstwhile state, expressed his concerns regarding the changes following the abrogation of Article 370. He said that prior to this constitutional change, the entire debate used to revolve around how much autonomy was to be accorded to the state.
