Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge's comments at a poll rally in Jasrota in Jammu and Kashmir have led to backlash from the top BJP leadership including Home Minister Amit Shah and Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman. Mr Kharge, who fainted while addressing the election rally said, "I am 83 years old. I am not going to die so early. I will stay alive till (Prime Minister) Modi is removed from power.'' Amit Shah called these remarks distasteful and spiteful while Nirmala Sitharaman said this speech was yet another instance of Congress' hatred towards PM Modi. The question is, Does this mark a low point in political discourse or is this just par for the course?
