ARUP, an organisation focussed on sustainable development in Urban Planning, conducted a survey based on NASA temperature readings of some of the world's busiest capitals. The study explained how Mumbai has turned into a UHI - an Urban Heat Island. The research reveals that Mumbai registered the second most intense hot spot at 7 degreee Celsius, in comparison to both New York and London that had hot spots of 4.5 degree Celsius. With climate change upon us, how can a heat crisis be averted in the maximum city ? Can the urban planners of India's financial capital foresee the effects and solutions to this crisis ? Manisha Natarajan, speak with industry experts - Roshni Udyavar Yehuda - CEO, Roshni Udyavar and Associates and RA Rajeev - Retired Metropolitan Commissioner, MMRDA (Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority).
